The event was announced at a press conference held in Japan on January 28, attended by Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha and members of the festival’s organising committee.

Building on the success of its previous editions, the Vietnam Festival in Osaka has become an annual cultural event of the Vietnamese community in Japan. It serves as a platform to showcase Vietnamese culture, landscapes and people through music, cuisine and cultural exchanges.

This year’s edition is held under the theme “Contemporary Vietnam – Flavours, Sounds and Smiles: Experiencing Vietnam with All Five Senses”, seeking to recreate a vibrant and modern Vietnamese atmosphere in the heart of Osaka.

Over the two-day event, dozens of stalls will offer signature Vietnamese dishes such as pho (noodle soup), bun bo (beef noodle soup), banh mi (sandwiches), nem (spring rolls) and Vietnamese coffee, prepared by reputable Vietnamese restaurants in Osaka and the Kansai region.

Art programmes will feature performances by both Vietnamese and Japanese artists. The festival will also provide an opportunity for Japanese visitors to learn more about new and attractive destinations in Vietnam.

In addition, the organising committee will offer health and consular consultation activities to support the Vietnamese community of around 140,000 people in the Kansai region, as well as visitors from other areas.

Through the festival, organisers hope to deepen Japanese audiences’ understanding of Vietnam, promote people-to-people exchanges, and further strengthen ties between the Vietnamese community in Japan and their Japanese friends.
