Vietnam explores cooperation opportunities at Istanbul Publishing Fellowship
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s Thai Ha Books JSC had the opportunity to connect to copyright holders and exchange content with large publishers worldwide at the 11th International Istanbul Publishing Fellowship Programme 2026, held in Istanbul, Turkey, from February 10-12.
According to Thai Ha Books, the annual event organised by the Turkish Printing and Publishing Professional Association (TBYM), with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, aims to promote copyright exchange, strengthen professional connections, and contribute to the sustainable development of the publishing industry in an international environment.
This year the event brought together 335 publishers from 73 countries selected from nearly 1,000 entrants from 104 countries, including 225 global and 110 Turkish publishers.
Pham Thuy, a representative of Thai Ha Books JSC, said that the programme gives a chance for international publishers to hold dialogues which not only introduce book catalogs but also delve into the value of content, cultural adaptability, and the long-term journey of a book while entering the international market.
Vietnam's participation in scholarship programmes and international publishing forums helps the country seek opportunities for cooperation, and reflects on the role of publishing in the context of globalisation.
“Publishing today is not merely about buying and selling rights. It is about selecting stories capable of sustaining long-term dialogue with readers. Participating in the forum provides us with space to listen, learn and think more deeply about how to bring insightful, knowledge-enriching books to Vietnamese readers,” Thuy said.
Since the programme was launched in 2016, more than 35,000 bilateral meetings have been held and over 25,000 preliminary agreements have been recorded.
In addition to copyright meetings, the forum continues to expand cross-platform content connectivity through networking activities between publishing and the digital content sectors, reflecting the development trends of the publishing industry in the context of digitalization.
