Vietnam-Egypt Economic and Cultural Exchange Week kicks off
VOV.VN - A Vietnam-Egypt cultural week opened at El Gouna resort in Red Sea Province, Egypt on July 21 with the participation of Vietnam, Egypt officials, ASEAN ambassadors to Egypt and hundreds of international friends and local people.
The highlight of the opening ceremony was the water puppet show “Isis Osiris”, which was adapted from the “Isis Osiris” myth of Egypt, and is a cooperation product between the two countries’ cultural sectors.
The water puppet show performed by Mohab Mai and other artists artists from the Cairo Puppet Theatre, left a strong impression on Egyptian audiences.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Do Hoang Long said the Vietnam-Egypt Cultural Exchange Week brought Vietnamese and Egyptian people closer. He added that the embassy will also conduct economic promotion activities with a view to promoting bilateral trade.
He said the week is very special because Mohab Mai, an Egyptian, introduced Vietnam’s unique water puppetry art to the Egyptian.
On July 25, the Vietnam Embassy in Egypt will coordinate with the Red Sea provincial Chamber of Commerce to organize a trade and investment promotion workshop to introduce Vietnam market to Egyptian businesses.
