Vietnam cultural week launched in Indonesia

(VOV) -The Vietnam culture, arts and culinary week in Indonesia opened at Kempinsky Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia on May 17.

A representative from the hotel thanked the Vietnamese embassy for its cooperation and support for the hotel’s initiative to introduce the unique and diverse traditional cultures and food of Vietnam to local and international visitors.

Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Xuan Thuy praised the event as a contribution to helping Indonesian people learn more about Vietnam, promoting Vietnam’s airlines and tourist destinations thus strengthening economic and trade ties between the two countries.

Three Vietnamese guest chefs will serve traditional Vietnamese specialities during the event, including pho (beef or chicken rice noodle soup), nem cuon (fresh spring rolls) and banh xeo (sizzling fried pancakes made from rice flour, turmeric, and slivers of belly pork and shrimp).

Sophisticated handicrafts made by meticulous Vietnamese artisans will be on display and visitors can also enjoy traditional songs and dances performed by Vietnamese students from the President University in Indonesia.
