Vietnam awarded third prize at int’l song contest in Latvia
(VOV) - Vietnam’s singer Khuat Duy Vinh has won the third prize worth 20,000 euros in the New Wave international song contest for young pop singers which closed in Latvia on July 28.
The first prize (50,000 euros) went to Roberto Kel Torres (Cuba) and the second prize (30,000 euros) to Saloma Katamadze (Georgia).
In addition, an audience-favoured prize was given to Arsenyi Borodin (Russia).
Musician Igor Krutoi-one of the contest founders-said the event this year attracted the largest number of contestants ever seen in the past 12 years (16 young singers from 12 countries over the world and many already involved in Eurovision song contests).
