Vietnam Art Space 2026 to showcase 130 artworks in HCM City

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Art Space – Connecting Art 2026 exhibition will open at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts on October 24, featuring 130 artworks by 111 Vietnamese artists and six guest artists from Indonesia.

Bringing together established artists and emerging talents from different regions, the exhibition aims to foster direct dialogue between artists and audiences, strengthen artistic connections between Vietnam and Southeast Asia, and explore the relationship between creative practice and social responsibility.

The exhibition marks another stage in the development of Vietnam Art Space (VAS), which began as an online community in 2015. Initially created to showcase artworks, exchange ideas and share creative activities, the community has grown into an artistic network with more than 82,000 members across digital platforms.

Over the past decade, VAS has extended its activities beyond social media to include art camps, workshops, exhibitions and in-person exchanges. Key milestones include an art camp in Saigon in 2016, the Dalat Mini Workshop in 2019, which involved international artists, and the Caravan – Painting Across Vietnam programme in 2022.

The 2026 exhibition builds on this experience by bringing connections formed online into a physical gallery space. Through the works’ varied materials, dimensions, lighting and spatial arrangements, visitors will be able to experience art beyond the digital screen. Artists, meanwhile, will have opportunities to present their work, exchange creative experiences and engage directly with art enthusiasts.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for 10 am on October 24 at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, and will run through November 1.
