Junior Vietnamese swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien has shone at the recent Southeast Asian (SEA) Age Groups Swimming Championship in Brunei.

Vien, who had returned from a short training course in the US, competed in 13 events in the 16-18 age groups.

She brought home 11 golds and two silvers and broke seven SEA Age Group records and one SEA Games record in the women’s 200m backstroke.

Thanks to her impressive performance Vietnam finished fourth in the medal tally after Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
