Video contest promoting Vietnamese culture draws public attention

Nearly 12,000 video entries featuring Vietnamese cultural values were sent to the “Vietnamese quintessence” contest within eight weeks since it was launched in November 2023 by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, attracting nearly 36 million views.

Contestants posted their video clips, short visual reports or short films about Vietnamese culture and traditional identity on TikTok and sent the TikTok link to the organiser's website: http://tinhhoavietnam.doanthanhnien.vn/.

According to the contest organiser, as of January 30, the contest had also received nearly 680,000 votes on digital platforms. Contestants from the provinces of Quang Binh, Phu Yen, Quang Nam and Binh Dinh sent the largest number of entries.

It’s expected that the contest winners will be announced at the closing and awarding ceremony in March.

The contest is part of the youth union’s action plan to implement the national target programme on revitalising and developing culture and building the Vietnamese people and another communication project on Vietnam's ethnicity and religion.

It is open for individuals and groups who are pupils and students at high schools, vocational schools, universities, academies, colleges in Vietnam and abroad.
