US singer Katy Perry to visit Vietnam

(VOV) - US pop-singer, Katy Perry, will take part in the “Under 30 Summit Vietnam” organized by Forbes Vietnam magazine on May 12. 

Perry is a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

At the scheduled event, Perry will encourage Vietnamese youth to build plans for their future and raise their voices about issues which are most important to their lives.

Miss Perry has been named on Forbes’ annual “Music 30 Under 30” list many times. She was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF in 2013.

Her role is to encourage and rally young people to participate in UNICEF’s activities, in order to improve the lives of children living in poverty, all over the world.

In February 2015, Forbes Vietnam announced their first “30 Under 30” list, which is comprised of Vietnamese rising stars born after 1985 and make up the next generation of leaders  from business, start-up, entertainment, and sports industries.

Forbes Vietnam is also slated to organize the “Under 30 Summit Vietnam” to encourage start-up spirits and motivate local youth.

The Under 30 Summit Vietnam will be held in GEM Centre in Ho Chi Minh City on May 12 is expected to draw over 800 attendees.
