Travel agencies join Cambodia Sea Festival
(VOV) -Vietnamese travel operations along with foreign partners participated in the third Sea Festival in Phnom Penh,Cambodia on December 12-14 with a view to developing the local marine tourism.
Attended by tens of thousands of visitors, the event featured a food expo, a trade fair, a workshop on climate change, art performances, and sports events.
Tourism is one of the key economic sectors of Cambodia with the stable growth of 15-20%, greatly contributed to the nation's GDP.
In the nine moths up to October, Cambodia welcomed 3.6 million foreign tourists, up 6 % on-year. Vietnam topped the list recording approximately 630,000 arrivals.
Last year, the country welcomed 4.2 million international visitors and grossed US$ 2.6 billion in revenue.
The first Sea Festival was held in the port city of Sihanoukville in 2011 and the second in Kep city last year.
