Traditional materials of Vietnamese paintings exhibited in France

VOV.VN - Traditional materials of Vietnamese paintings are being showcased at an ongoing exhibition held at the Vietnam Culture Centre in Paris, France, featuring unique materials such as lacquer, poonah paper, and silk.

On display are 50 pieces created on traditional materials such as poonah paper, silk, wood and lacquer.

All the artworks have been made by alumni of fine arts universities in France and Vietnam, aiming to introduce to the public diverse aspects of daily life and religious beliefs in both countries.

Nghiem Xuan Dong, director of the Vietnam Culture Centre in France, said the exhibition provides a good opportunity for international friends to understand more about Vietnamese culture.

The event was held as part of the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties (1973-2023) and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership (2013-2023).

The exhibition is scheduled to last through to July 19.
