Top 25 finalists to vie for Miss Vietnam 2026 crown
VOV.VN - The Top 25 contestants advancing to the national final of Miss Vietnam 2026 will be selected based not only on their performances at the national semi-final but also on their participation, training and activities throughout the pageant, organisers said on October 6.
The national semi-final is scheduled to take place at 8 p.m. on October 10 at the Dragon Ocean International Tourist Area in Hai Phong, with 53 contestants competing for places in the national final. The judging panel is expected to select around 25 contestants based on their performance on the night and their overall journey in the pageant.
The 53 contestants have spent nearly two months living together, training and taking part in practical activities. Their training has covered catwalk skills, poise, communication, public speaking, critical thinking, vocal skills, physical fitness and on-camera performance.
According to organisers, Miss Vietnam 2026 continues to uphold four key pillars - Beauty, Culture, Intellect and Dedication. Rather than being assessed as separate criteria, the four pillars are considered throughout the contestants’ participation in the pageant.
Addressing the press conference in Hai Phong on October 6, Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper and head of the Miss Vietnam 2026’s organising committee noted that the pageant honours diverse backgrounds, unique personalities, and individual stories. After nearly two months of training and activities, organisers also wanted to see how the contestants had developed in their thinking, conduct and sense of responsibility.
He said the pageant respects different backgrounds, personalities and individual stories rather than seeking contestants who are alike. Through training, experiences and challenges, the positive qualities of each contestant could be revealed and further developed.
The dedication pillar is particularly considered a key criterion for evaluating the contestants. Suong shared that dedication can be demonstrated through concrete actions in everyday life.
Ahead of the national semi-final, the 53 contestants were divided into groups to develop ideas and carry out community activities. In Lai Chau and Tuyen Quang provinces, they worked with the organising committee on support programmes benefiting about 1,500 children in highland areas.
In addition to community activities, the contestants embarked on journeys to explore the culture and history of various localities, including Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Quang Ninh, and Hai Phong. Such trips presented an opportunity for the contestants to enrich their life experiences, gain a deeper understanding of the cultures and people of different regions, and foster personal growth.
During the semi-final round, contestants are scheduled to compete in Ao Dai (traditional long dresses), swimwear, and evening gown parts. The outdoor stage draws inspiration from the lotus flower and features multiple catwalk paths, allowing the contestants to display their unique personalities.
Based on their performances, the judges will select 25 contestants to qualify for the final round of Miss Vietnam 2026.
