Tien Minh’s first win at UK badminton champs
(VOV) - Vietnam’s top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh defeated Malaysia’s Tan Chung Seang in the 2013 All England Open Badminton Championships in Birmingham, UK, on March 6.
In the first set, Minh beat Seang 21-12. However, in the second set the score was 15-21 to Minh’s disadvantage. The third set ended with a score of 21-15 in his favour again.
With this win, Minh enter the second round to face Verma (India), who just defeated Rumbaka (Indonesia) 2-1.
Minh is seeded No.8 in the tournament.
Players in the second round include seed No.1 Lee Chong Wei, No.2 Chen Long, No. 5 Chen Jin, seed No. 7 Kenichi Tago.
