Tien Minh’s first win at Japan Open

(VOV) - Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh produced a spectacular comeback to seal a 2-1 victory over China’s Wang Zhengming in his first match at the Japan Open on September 18.  

The 23-year-old Chinese player totally took control of the first set, scoring six consecutive points in a row to finish the set 21-14.

The situation was reversed in the second set in which the Vietnamese player changed his tactics with professional, powerful services, forcing his opponent to surrender with a conveincing 21-11 victory.

Minh’s winning streak continued into the third set, overwhelming Wang in another impressive 21-14 victory.

In another match on the same day, Yu Hun of Hong Kong, China, also secured a place in the second round after beating Sai Praneeth (India) 2-0.
