Tien Minh qualifies for Taiwan Open’s third round
(VOV) -Leading Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has defeated hometown rival Sheng-Jie Yang (ranked world no. 337) in their September 5 second round match at the 2013 Taiwan Open Grand Prix Gold.
Minh only needed 30 minutes to claim the victory with a score of 21-15, 21-14.

Minh dominated his internationally inexperienced opponent. Yang has never ranked higher than 100th in the world.
Minh will now face the 69th ranked player Zulkiffli Zulfadli in the tournament’s third round.
Vietnamese female athlete Vu Thi Trang challenged Taiwan’s Ying Chun Lin in the second round of the women’s event on the same day.
