(VOV) - The Germany Embassy in Vietnam has invited Vertical Running World Champion Thomas Dold to take part in the Hanoi Vertical Run—the country’s highest stair-climbing race at the Keangnam Landmark 72 building on September 15.
Hundreds of athletes of every age will attempt to conquer the building’s nearly 2,000 steps in the race to the 72nd floor of the 350m high skyscraper.
Participants run in groups of 10 to 15 beginning at five-minute intervals to avoid congestion.
Thomas Dold is a German track and field athlete, an extreme sports star, a tower and stair runner, and holder of the world record for backwards running.
He has won championship titles from 28 international stair races, including seven first place finishes in New York’s Empire State Building Run-Up.
