Thi Huyen shows her love for Spratly Islands

VOV.VN - Miss Nguyen Thi Huyen who has generally remained pretty tight-lipped about her personal life outside of showbiz, recently paid a visit to the Spratly Islands.

With the visit in June, she became the first ever Miss Vietnam titleholder past or present to visit the islands.

Her trip garnered a lot of interest and respect from the general public.

Officially, she represents her employer, the Vietnam Academy of Journalism and Communication, where she works as a culture researcher and is the deputy secretary of the youth union.

During the visit, she actively participates in exchanges with the soldiers on the islands.

A smile always on her lips.

She also enjoys playing with children at the Children’s Festival.

Who then look to her for gifts.

She volunteers to help prepare meals for the sailors.

The sailors say her grilled fish is out-of-this-world delicious.

To show her sincere love and appreciation for those heroes who have sacrificed for the nation, she sings Buddhist songs for the soldiers.

At Sinh Ton Pagoda, she prays to those who sacrificed on Gac Ma Island.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union gives a national flag from the Lung Cu Flag Tower to island soldiers.

The trip leaves an unforgettable impression on her, says Miss Huyen.

Her work requires that she regularly meet with foreigners, she says, noting that she often chooses pictures of the Spratly Islands as gifts for them.

Recently Huyen has been instrumental in establishing and lecturing at a joint cultural education program between Middlesex University in London and her employer.
