Ms. Suwannapongse uses a variety of materials in her paintings, including mud, sand, snail shells, copper, silver and gold.
Suwannapongse started learning lacquer painting with Nguyen Quoc Cuong in 2004 when she worked at the Thai embassy in Hanoi and, although she is very busy, she still finds free time to paint.
She said Vietnamese lacquer is a good medium to represent Thai culture as well as her love for her homeland and Vietnam
