Teen swimmer wins gold at Asian Indoor Games

Vietnamese teenage swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien stormed to a gold medal at the fourth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Incheon, the Republic of Korea, on June 30.
Vien triumphed in the women’s 200m individual medley.
Her teammate Tran Duy Khoi also bagged silver in the men’s 200m individual medley.
The 17-year-old swimmer continued her impressive winning streak from the fifth ASEAN School Games which finished in Hanoi on June 28, where she took eight golds and one bronze across the nine swimming categories.
In the women’s futsal qualifying event, Vietnam beat Malaysia 6-1 to rank third in Group A.
In the men’s billiards, 9 Ball single round, Nguyen Anh Tuan lost to Palajin Kobkit of Thailand 6-9.
Meanwhile, in the men’s 6 red snooker single round, Pham Hoai Nguyen was defeated by Enkhbaatar Enkhjargal of Mongolia 2-5.
The event features athletes from 43 members of the Olympic Council of Asia.
