Tchaikovsky night concert to enthrall music lovers in Hanoi

VOV.VN - Music lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy masterpieces by Russian composer Tchaikovsky at a night concert due to take place at the Vietnam National Academy of Music on April 19.

The Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish prize-winning violinist Sara Dragan, and renowned international violinist Chuong Vu will perform Tchaikovsky’s masterpieces under the baton of Turkish conductor Orhan Salliel.

The concert will present three emblematic works by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840–1893).

It will open with the Nutcracker Overture, Op. 71, the prelude to the beloved ballet The Nutcracker, and a hallmark of Tchaikovsky’s contribution to dance music.

Two other pieces are the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, Tchaikovsky’s only violin concerto, written in 1878, and Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64.

Turkish conductor Orhan Salliel has conducted many Symphonic Orchestras in Turkey and abroad. He has also written internationally premiered works such as Trumpet Concerto (2019, published by Da Vinci) and Piano Concerto (2022).

Sara Dragan is a 22-year-old award-winning concert violinist who is fast emerging as one of the finest violinists of her generation. She has performed at many prestigious festivals and performed in many concerts all over the world.
