Themed “The Quintessence of Hanoi – Converging and Shining,” the event drew 5,000 artists and audiences, who joined seven performance groups featuring folk arts, trade villages, the elderly, the youth, contemporary arts, and sports.

Participants paraded around Hoan Kiem Lake, crossing the Ly Thai To square, Ba Kieu temple, Luc Thuy restaurant, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Ba Kieu-Hang Khay crossroad, and Hang Bai-Hang Khay cross road.

According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the festival aims to honour the traditional and historical values of the city, thus encourage locals to continue preserving and promoting them.

Along with traditional dances such as lion dance and dragon dance, the artists also revived the traditional wedding of Hanoi people, together with an “ao dai” (traditional long dress) show, and some sports performances.
