Spring Festival to strengthen Vietnam-Japan ties

(VOV) -The 2013 Spring Festival will be held at the Vietnam Exhibition and Fair Centre on April 20–21, celebrating the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Year 2013 and the 40th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

The information was released at a press conference in Hanoi on April 12.

The festival will offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy a series of cultural activities including a Mikoshi Parade, folk games, martial and origami paper art demonstrations, and a photo exhibition on the history of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Silk cherry blossoms and delicious traditional food from both countries will also be showcased during the festival.

Japan-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Association (JVCA) Chairman Vu Khac Lien said the celebrations are intended to enhance the relationship and mutual understandings between the two countries as well as to create a chance for Vietnamese people to explore Japanese culture.

The event is co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism’s International Cooperation Department and the JVCA.
