South Africa, France, and Japan to host Vietnam Days Abroad 2023
VOV.VN - The Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a press conference in Hanoi on September 8 to unveil the "Vietnam Days Abroad 2023" event.
Accordingly, the event will be held in South Africa, France, and Japan to mark the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and these countries.
The programme will begin in Pretoria (South Africa) on September 14 and 15 with a wide range of activities such as a Vietnamese cultural space, an art performance, a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-South Africa diplomatic ties, and a business forum.
France and Japan will be the next destinations for the event, which is scheduled to run in November and December to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and these countries.
Hoang Huu Anh, deputy director general of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO, emphasised that this year's event aims to elevate the image of Vietnam and its dynamic people, along with showcasing the country’s unique cultural characteristic and promoting its economic, trade, and investment ties among countries.
Most notably, the Vietnamese cultural space is expected to provide visitors with experiential activities such as making lacquer paintings and Dong Ho folk paintings, wearing traditional Vietnamese costumes, as well as sampling Vietnamese cuisine, he added.
A photo exhibition featuring diplomatic relations, Vietnamese heritages and people, will be also held at the cultural space.
