Six award-winning Vietnamese films to premiere in Greece

VOV.VN - A Vietnamese film week will be introduced in Greece from May 10 to May 20, with six local films which have won domestic and international prizes being put on show for audiences to enjoy.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has duly assigned the Vietnam Film Institute to bring the six films to Greece.

Among them is a film on President Ho Chi Minh titled "Hồ Chí Minh-Chân dung một con người" (Ho Chi Minh, portrait of a man) in celebration of his 135th birthday on May 19.

This represents one of the best documentary films on the life and career of Uncle Ho. It was awarded the Golden Lotus at the ninth Vietnam Film Festival in 1990.

Furthermore, the film "Nhà tiên tri" (The Prophet) produced in 2015 will be screened in Greece this May. The film depicts the historical period when President Ho Chi Minh leads the nation in the struggle for national independence.

Moreover, international audiences will have chance to watch "Hà Nội mùa đông 46" (Hanoi in the Winter of 1946) which was produced in 1997. The film portrays the final days in Hanoi before the outbreak of the nationwide war of resistance on December 19, 1946.

The other films featuring the couuntr’s landscape and culture to be shown in Greece include "Chuyện của Pao" (Story of Pao) produced in 2005, "Trở về" (The Return) from 1994, and "Trăng nơi đáy giếng" (Moon at the bottom of the well) made in 2008.
