Science Film Festival highlights urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

VOV.VN - The 14th Science Film Festival in Vietnam themed "Net Zero and the Circular Economy" is getting underway across the country, highlighting the urgency of reducing global greenhouse gas emissions and protecting the climate more effectively.

The science film festival is an international programme held in 24 countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

In Vietnam, the festival organized by the Goethe Institute is taking place from October 17 to December 31, focusing on reducing global greenhouse gas emissions, as achieving net-zero emissions as soon as possible is crucial to meeting the goals of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.

This year’s event features 20 films from 9 countries, namely Germany, the UK, France, Italy, Chile, Colombia, Qatar, Thailand and the Philippines, selected from 85 film submissions from international filmmakers, studios and television programmes.

A total of 20 films will be screened online and in person at school libraries across Vietnam till December 31.
