Sao Mai singing contest announces final round
(VOV) - The final round of the 2013 Sao Mai (Morning Star) television singing contest will be held in the northern province of Haiphong from August 10–31.
Thirty-four of the best contestants from Vietnam’s three northern, central, and southern regions and expatriate communities in Europe will compete across the three genres of chamber music, folk music, and pop.
Ten of the selected contestants are residents of northern Vietnam, nine are from the central region, eight from the southern region, and seven from Europe.
The chamber music performances are scheduled for August 10, folk performances on August 17, and pop on August 25.
The organising board will factor in each of the three genres when selecting their best nine contestants.
The competition’s finale and awards ceremony will take place on August 31.
The first television show will be broadcast on VTV1 at 8.05PM on August 10.
