The Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music will host a “Classical Masterworks” concert by the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra at 8 p.m. on September 4.

In the concert, the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra will perform with two Chinese artists – conductor Cui Hongjia and pianist Cui Honggen.

The concert will feature masterpieces by Mozart and Schubert whose music represent the classical era with characteristic poise and elegance.

They include Mozart’s rarely performed first Symphony composed at the age of 8 in E Flat Major (KV.16), his much-loved Elvira Madigan piano concerto No.21 in C Major (KV.467) and Schubert’s delightful Symphony No. 5 in B Flat Major (D.485).

Making their debut with the Saigon Philharmonic, internationally acclaimed pianist Cui Honggen from China, who is a teaching assistant of Dang Thai Son, will perform alongside his brother Cui Hongjia, renowned conductor/music director of the Shenzhen Grand Theatre Philharmonic Orchestra.
