Saigon Choir to perform “Luminous Night” concert on December 19

Saigon Choir, a classical ensemble of elite singers from HCMC Conservatory of Music, will welcome the upcoming holiday season by performing “Luminous Night” concert.

The concert, featuresclassical and popular music from around the world, designed to entertain arts lovers of all ages and nationalities at 8 p.m. on December 19.

Audiences are promised to enjoy excerpts from the celebrated G.F.Handel’s Messiah, which has taken worldwide classical music lovers by storm. Saigon Choir will also perform delightful arrangements of such crowd-pleasing Christmas carols as “Joy to the world”, “Silent Night”, and “We wish you a Merry Christmas”, among other heart-warming melodies embodying universal messages of love and peace.

The concert will feature the performances of leading classical artists, most notably Meritorious Artist Ta Minh Tam and soprano Pham Khanh Ngoc, the last-named artist coming second at the International Vocal Competition SLO-ASEAN in Singapore in October 2016.

Under the tutelage of HCMC Conservatory of Music and Choirmaster Huynh Quang Thai, Saigon Choir comprises over fifty emerging classical singers and performers who have performed at “A Broadway Journey,” sponsored by the US Embassy in Vietnam and US Consulate General in HCMC, “International Voices,” featuring international artistic collaboration with Yale Alumni Chorus from the US, the  “Carmen” opera sponsored by the consulate general of France in HCMC, and “Art at the Park,” by the Park Hyatt Saigon.

“Luminous Night” will take place at the main concert hall of the HCMC Conservatory of Music at 112 Nguyen Du Street in HCMC’s District 1. People can purchase tickets to the “Luminous Night” at the prices from VND100,000 to VND300,000 per person at the HCMC Conservatory of Music or call the hotlines 0122 590 5860 (Mr. Vu), 0903 034 112 (Ms. Ngan). There are special discounts available for students.
