Royal Opera House of Versailles artists return to Hanoi for Baroque concert
VOV.VN - Musicians from the French Royal Opera House of Versailles will return to Hanoi to present the "Four Seasons with Love" concert at Ho Guom Opera House on October 29 and 30, following their acclaimed "Four Seasons" program in 2024.
The orchestra, conducted by violinist and conductor Stefan Plewniak, will take the stage alongside countertenors Théo Imart and Stéphane Wolf, and soprano Marie Zaccarini.
The concert brings Baroque music to life through a four-part structure representing Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, weaving instrumental pieces with arias and duets by Giovanni Antonio Guido, Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Johann Adolf Hasse, and Riccardo Broschi.
A key highlight of the program is the interplay between works by widely recognized Baroque masters such as Vivaldi, Handel, and Rameau with compositions by Guido, Hasse, and Broschi, enriching the audience’s perspective on the varied nuances of European Baroque music.
Guido’s four seasonal pieces serve as the narrative thread, guiding listeners through the progression from Spring to Winter. Interspersed throughout this journey are arias and instrumental compositions by Vivaldi, Handel, Rameau, Hasse, and Broschi.
While the instrumental segments capture nature through the movement of the four seasons, the vocal performances expand the expressive realm into human emotion. Love, aspiration, sorrow, tenderness, and dramatic climaxes are expressed through each piece, making the concept of the four seasons a unifying thread across the entire concert.
The synergy between the vocalists and the orchestra adds a unique character to the performance, with Théo Imart, Marie Zaccarini, and Stéphane Wolf delivering the vocal sections to create rich expressive layers within the seasonal framework.
