Remembering Uncle Ho’s mother

(VOV) - A spiritual offering of a pair of banh chung cakes weighing in excess of 350kg each was made on February 24 to Hoang Thi Loan – mother of President Ho Chi Minh – on the occasion of the arrival of Lunar New Year spring.

It took a 1.5 metre high pot and 15 hours just to cook the glutinous rice, mung beans, pork and other special ingredients before workers meticulously wrapped each one with 100 large dong leaves.

The event at the Hotel Saigon in Vinh City in the northern province of Nghe An was organised by Saigontourist in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
