Programme to promote Vietnamese culinary culture launched

VOV.VN - The Tourism Information Center under the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) on October 1 unveiled the 2024 co-operation programme aimed at promoting Vietnamese cuisine.

The scheme is being held as part of the project to further promote tourism and honour Vietnamese culinary culture, with a specific focus on unique local ingredients.

Nguyen Le Phuc, deputy director of the VNAT, said that under the tourism development strategy towards 2030, the nation has identified culinary tourism as one of the typical product as a way of enhancing the competitive advantage and brand of Vietnamese tourism.

The country’s local cuisine has proven its appeal globally and been honoured by many international tourists through several prestigious awards.

Meanwhile, Hoang Quoc Hoa, director of the Tourism Information Center, said the application of technology and digital transformation in tourism promotion activities is one of the key orientations of the tourism industry.

Hoa emphasized that the centre has ramped up the application of digital technology and online communication activities specifically aimed at promoting Vietnamese cultural and culinary values ​​to the wider public, thereby contributing to promoting tourism through attractive culinary experiences.
