Preserving culture during international integration
(VOV) - The challenge of preserving Vietnamese values in an ever-changing world was a major topic of a seminar hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Hanoi on May 28.
Globalization and advances in science and technology are breaking down barriers between nations.
Foreign cultures are an increasingly strong influence on Vietnamese people’s habits and lifestyles. Younger generations are especially susceptible to international media and literature and the products of investment, tourism, and exchange programmes.
The seminar’s participants suggested the cultural sector train a highly qualified workforce dedicated to producing products imbued with Vietnamese cultural identities.
They stressed the importance of a sense of public solidarity if Vietnam is to benefit from the ongoing international integration process.
They noted global cultural ideals also have the potential to enrich and diversify the national culture.
