Pianist to perform in Tchaikovsky concert

(VOV) - Vietnamese pianist Tran Thi Tam Ngoc will perform together with the National Symphony Orchestra in a Tchaikovsky concert at the Hanoi Opera House on April 4-5.

This regular event, conducted by Shinozaki Yasuo from Japan, aims to popularize chamber music among the public.

The performance will include Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slave, Concerto No. 1 and Concerto No. 5.

Tam Ngoc graduated from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore and earned an MA from the Boston Conservatory in the USA.

She won top prize at the Asia International Chopin competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2004, and first prize in solo piano and chamber music competitions at the Boston Conservatory in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

The Hanoi-born girl is regularly invited to perform in theatres in Singapore and the US. She has also worked with numerous directors around the world.

Ngoc is currently a piano lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
