| Khanh Shyna says the dress is inspired by the phoenix-one of four sacred animals according to Vietnamese belief. |

| He adds that the five phoenixes on the dress symbolize strength and power of the Nguyen Dynasty. |

| The national costume contest is scheduled to take place on October 12. |
