Photo exhibition on Vietnam opens in Iran
(VOV) - A photo exhibition titled “Vietnam Today” was held in Tehran, Iran on May 24 to mark the 125th birthday of the late President Ho Chi Minh and the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Iran diplomatic ties.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese ambassador to Iran Nguyen Hong Thach highlighted Ho Chi Minh’s cause in association with Vietnam’s resounding history and her struggle for national reunification.
The diplomat said Vietnam-Iran traditional friendship has developed constantly in recent time. He wished that the exhibition will create a momentum for cultural exchange activities in other cities of Iran.
Meanwhile, Head of Art and Cultural Department of Tehran Municipality Mohammadi said the six-day event features daily lives of Vietnamese and Iranian people, and offers them a good opportunity to learn of each other’s culture and contribute to promoting all-round relations between the two nations.
The Iranian delegates highlighted the significance of the event and expressed hope that similar events will be held in different localities of both nations to accelerating traditional friendship.
On the occasion, the Vietnamese embassy in Iran and the Iran Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization signed a memorandum of understanding, committing to support bilateral cooperation in tourism development.
