Photo exhibition of Romanian sculptor’s works to open in Hanoi
VOV.VN - An exhibition featuring outstanding works by Constantin Brancusi, dubbed the father of modern sculpture, will be held from March 29 to 31 at Bat Trang Ceramic Museum in Hanoi.

The event will be put on by the Romanian Embassy in Vietnam as part of activities to celebrate 75 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Romania.
The exhibition will introduce 35 images by photographer Sorin Vasilescu, capturing modern sculpture works of the Romanian sculptor.
Born in Romania in 1876, Brancusi is a central figure in the world of modern sculpture. He revolutionised sculpture, by introducing simplified forms, abstraction, and a philosophical approach that would influence 20th-century art. His search for essence and simplicity, echoing folklore and spiritual traditions, paved the way for new directions in contemporary art, thereby asserting his unquestionable place in art history.
After passing away in 1957, the Romanian sculptor left behind 1,200 photographs and 215 sculptures. In 2015, the Romanian Parliament decided to name February 19 as Brancusi Day.
