Photo exhibition focuses on ordnance clearance

Sixty-two photos depicting the Mine Advisory Group (MAG)’s activities to clear unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Vietnam are on display in HCM City.

The photos taken by photographers Sean Sutton, Aidan Dockery and Na Son also depict the communities in the affected areas.

Hannah Bryce, MAG Vietnam country director, said the photos show the brave actions of MAG’s local staff, as well as social and economic development in the affected areas.

The exhibition titled Impact for Peace, aims to raise awareness of the UXO issue in Vietnam.

MAG, an international humanitarian organisation, has been working in the central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Nam and Quang Tri since 1999.

It has cleared 7.7 million sq.m of land that is now used productively, and has removed and destroyed more than 185,000 UXOs and landmines.

The exhibition, at the War Remnants Museum at 28 Vo Van Tan Street in District 3, will end on December 25.

All of the photos will be donated to the museum after the exhibition ends.
