Peruvian food festival kicks off in Hanoi
(VOV) - The first-ever Peruvian food and gastronomic festival kicked off in Hanoi on July 27 at the Vietnam Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel with a press conference by Charge d’affaires Luis Tsuboyama of the Embassy of Peru in Vietnam.
“Over recent years, Peru and Vietnam have cultivated a time-honoured relationship, become reliable partners and closely co-ordinated with each other at international forums like the UN and the Asia-Pacific Economic Forum,” Tsuboyama said.
He added that both nations have developed deep cooperative ties in a host of fields spanning politics to trade and welcomed Vietnamese businesses to invest in Peru affirming that the Latin American nation will strive to create favourable conditions for them.
Peruvian is the single most important cuisine in Latin America, with a repertoire of dishes maybe bigger than France and at the Vietnam Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel festival goers will be able to check out all that Peru has to offer in terms of great dining.
For the week July 27-31 expert chefs from the hotel will showcase the finest in Peruvian fare and offer an extensive menu boasting dozens of traditional dishes prepared with specially selected ingredients.
Festival goers will also have an opportunity to taste the ultimate in Peruvian dining and explore a new culture through cuisine and see the similarity between the Peruvian cuisine and Asian cuisine, as well as differences in the use of ingredients and cooking.
The festival organizers have also planned to coordinate the food and stands with music, costume, and activities that pertain to where the food of that region originates within Peru and highlight the diversity of the country and the innovation that it has brought to the Peruvian table.
