People continue to visit royally-initiated winter festival
People continue to make their way to the Winter Festival which features more than 200,000 flowers and exhibitions on important events that took place in the reign of King Rama V.

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn deputized Privy Councilor Attaniti Dita-amnat to visit the festival on February 13 to look at highlights of the events which include the Royal Barge Suphannahong, winter flowers and food carving demonstrations.
Located near the entrance is a replica of the 25-meter long Royal Barge Suphannahong. The actual barge was built during the period of King Rama I as a royal vessel. It has been used in royal ceremonies ever since.
To the right of the barge is an exhibition about the achievements of King Rama V who ended slavery in Thailand and introduced the railway service, and electric power and running water systems in Thailand.
Visitors can learn about the ancient art of dessert making and buy delicacies from the Bureau of the Royal Household staff. There are also stores offering products bearing drawings by His Majesty the King, and products made in royally initiated projects.
Those who visited the Winter Festival on February 13 expressed their gratitude to His Majesty the King for organizing such an event and giving them an opportunity to learn more about the history of Thailand.
All proceeds from the festival will be donated to the unprivileged nationwide. The festival is open every day from now to March 11th from 10.30 am to 9 pm, but stays open until 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
