Palestinian and US Ambassadors celebrate Kitchen Gods Day

VOV.VN -Foreign diplomats have joined in the Tet (Lunar New Year) custom of releasing carp on the occasion of the Kitchen Gods Day (23rd Lunar December).

On February 1, US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius and partner Clayton Bond released fish into Huong River in Thua Thien-Hue Province.

 

The ambassador also prayed for luck for his family and the Vietnamese people.

 

 

Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama also participated in an ancient festival to honour the Kitchen Gods.

 

This is the fourteenth time he has celebrated Lunar New Year in Vietnam.

 

He released 3 golden fish into Hoan Kiem Lake

 

 

After that, the Ambassador visited the flower market in Hang Luoc Street. 

 

 

 


 

 

He bought two peach blossom trees to decorate his office and home. 

 

According to Vietnamese legend, they are expected to bring good luck and happiness in the New Year.
