Over 2,000 to perform in grand choir for National Day celebration in Hanoi
VOV.VN - More than 2,000 singers, artists, and choir members will join voices in a special art programme titled Hanoi – Vietnam's Aspiration, to be held on the evening of August 31 at the Vietnam National Exposition Centre to celebrate Vietnam’s 80th National Day (September 2).

The event is one of the key cultural and artistic highlights within the framework of the Exhibition on Vietnam’s Socio-Economic Achievements, as well as a part of a broader series of celebrations honouring the country’s historic journey over the past 80 years.
With the overarching theme “Aspiration for a strong, prosperous, and happy Vietnam,” the programme aims to take audiences back to the heroic days of the August Revolution and the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, while also painting a vivid picture of a modern, dynamic, and integrated Hanoi - a thousand-year-old capital, a City for Peace, and a Creative City.
The evening will begin with a solemn flag-raising ceremony and a mass performance of the national anthem, featuring the participation of over 2,000 performers, creating a sacred atmosphere and evoking the spirit of national unity and pride.
A major highlight of the show will be a paragliding performance carrying the national flag across Hanoi's sky, symbolising the nation's longing for independence, peace, and freedom. A brilliant artistic fireworks display, synchronized with music, will follow, delivering a visually stunning and emotionally moving experience.
Directed by Hoang Cong Cuong and Meritorious Artist Thanh Hien, the programme will feature a rich blend of performances including music, dance, theatrical scenes, 3D mapping, multi-layered staging, laser effects, and the use of historical footage.
Renowned Vietnamese artists will take part in the performance, including Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, People’s Artist Thu Huyen, vocalists Dong Hung, Lam Bao Ngoc, Do To Hoa, band Oplus, saxophonist Hoang Tung, violinist Huyen Anh, pianist Trung Duc, and many others.
The programme will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television and its digital platforms.
