Opening stages of Miss Vietnam Tourism 2020 get underway
VOV.VN - The Miss Vietnam Tourism 2020 pageant launched its initial stages on May 12, with the competition scheduled to run until January 2021.
My Dung, a representative of the beauty contest’s organising board, stated that the second pageant is expected to provide a timely boost to the nation’s tourism industry which has been severely affected by the novel coronavirus epidemic.
The beauty contest is open to all girls aged between 18 and 26 who have at least graduated from high school, are not married, and stand above 1.6 metres tall.
The competition’s organisers opened applications from May 12, with the preliminary rounds to take place in Hanoi in June and again in Ho Chi Minh City in October. The grand final is planned to get underway on January 16, 2021, in Gia Nghia city in the Central Highland province of Dak Nong.
The overall winner of the pageant will receive a crown and a cash prize totaling VND2 billion.
Moreover, a number of sub-titles will be also be awarded throughout the event, including Miss Ao Dai, Miss Talent, Miss Photogenic, and Miss Sea.
The Miss Vietnam Tourism pageant, first held in 2017, aims to honour beauty, talent, and the intelligence of local girls, while simultaneously promoting local tourism.
