Oktoberfest, largest German beer festival in Southeast Asia, returns to Vietnam

VOV.VN - Oktoberfest, the largest German beer festival in Southeast Asia, is set to make its return to Vietnam, taking place across the country’s three major cities - Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City - from September to October 2025.

The festival, that showcases authentic German culture, cuisine, and craft beer, will kick off at JW Marriott Hanoi from September 25 to 27, followed by a one-night gala at Furama Resort in Da Nang on October 3. It will then conclude with a three-night celebration at Nikko Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City from October 9 to 11.

Attendees will have the chance to enjoy a wide variety of imported German beers, brewed in the traditional Bavarian style, alongside non-alcoholic beverages.

According to the organisers at a press conference in Da Nang on August 22, the event this year marks the 30th anniversary of the German Business Association (GBA) along with the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations.

Following the success of Oktoberfest 2024 which saw more than 10,500 attendees and more than 20,000 litres of imported German beer on offer, making it the largest beer festival in Southeast Asia, Oktoberfest 2025 promises to be an even more memorable festival, the organisers said.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant Bavarian atmosphere with performances by the renowned O’zapft band from Germany and Austria, along with various entertainment activities, such as folk dances, traditional games, and raffle draws.

Oktoberfest will be co-hosted by the German Business Association (GBA) and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam), under the patronage of the German Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam.

The festival has been held annually in Vietnam since 1992. Over the past 30 years, GBA Oktoberfest has become a cultural bridge between the two sides and has further strengthened the strategic partnership between the two countries.
