Okayama festival celebrates Vietnam culture, traditions
VOV.VN - On October 9, the Okayama-Japan Youth Society sponsored a festival entitled – Vietnamese Day 2016 – celebrating the close bonds of friendship between the two nations culture and peoples.
This was a great cultural activity, attracting a lot of participating Vietnamese students studying and living in the Okayama region in addition to significant interest from local residents of Japan, said the organizing committee.

This year's program aimed to serve as a bridge to bring the beauty of the Vietnamese culture and country closer to the Japanese people as well as to connect the Overseas Vietnamese community living in Japan.

Many rich cultural and special activities took place involving such things as traditional dancing, singing, music and dress.
The most prominent event was a gala program entitled ‘Oka! Would We Sing’ that attracted rousing cheers from the audience.

The country was introduced to guests following a theme of rural Vietnam stretching from north to south, which placed a lot of emphasis on Vietnamese traditional culture and dress.
The event also provided guests ample opportunity to wear traditional clothing.

Many international friends were also very excited to join in folk dances and games. The games and dances along with the lively music were quick to connect people hand-in-hand together. |

The food area attracted the most attention of the visitors, with eight stalls serving pho, cha, pancakes, spinach, tea and water, a varied menu with tasty dishes that left many good impressions.
Besides enjoying the final entree, many visitors also joined in preparing the dishes.

All in all, the Festival received close to 1,200 guests. |
The Festival has left a deep impression in the hearts of visitors as well as the organizers.
We hope that the Festival would be an annual activity for the Overseas Vietnamese community working and studying in Japan, said the organizing committee.
