Nguyen Dynasty certificate of world documentary heritage
(VOV) - The State Records and Archives Department held a ceremony in Hanoi on July 30 to receive the world documentary heritage certificate for the official documents of Nguyen Dynasty.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh emphasised that the official documents of the Nguyen Dynasty are of great significance to documenting Vietnam’s territorial sovereignty over its borders, seas and islands.

The UNESCO recognition as a world documentary heritage contributes to affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos, Anh said.

Earlier on May 14, at the sixth plenary meeting of the World Regional Committee for the Asia-Pacific (MOWCAP), the official documents of Nguyen Dynasty had been recognised as a world documentary heritage by UNESCO.
