National Fine Arts Museum offers nighttime cultural experience

VOV.VN - The Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum is set to debut a new cultural tourism product titled “Museum Night”, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the museum after dark and enjoy a rich blend of art and interactive experiences.

This special event is part of the activities leading up to the 60th anniversary of the Museum’s establishment (1966–2026). It reflects the Museum’s ongoing efforts to innovate and fulfill its mission of preserving and promoting Vietnamese fine arts while contributing to the development of a vibrant cultural and creative sector.

“Museum Night” is expected to take place on the last Friday of each month, with a different theme each time to bring fresh and engaging experiences to visitors. The first three planned themes are Charming Autumn (on October 31), Winter Tales of the City (on November 28), and December Nostalgia (on December 26)

During “Museum Night,” visitors can explore the museum’s renowned collections under atmospheric lighting, with support from the iMuseum VFA — an automatic multimedia guide app that enhances the viewing experience.

The programme also features live painting demonstrations by artists and guided sketching sessions held in the museum’s courtyard. Guests can take part in hands-on craft activities, including decorating lanterns with Do (poonah) paper and traditional woodblock printing.

In addition, visitors can engage with art experts and researchers to gain insight into nine national treasures and other iconic works of Vietnamese fine art. Cultural performances, including live music by artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, will further enrich the evening.

“Museum Night” is envisioned as a new cultural tourism product that integrates visual arts, heritage education, and interactive experiences, all in one venue. Each event is carefully curated to reflect the seasons and cultural rhythms of Hanoi, offering something new every month for both residents and tourists.

With thoughtful planning and strong cultural value, the tourism product is expected to become a highlight of Hanoi’s nightlife, aligning with broader efforts to develop Vietnam’s creative industries and promote night-time tourism.
