Nam competes in F2 Futures tennis tournament

(VOV) - Young Vietnamese tennis player Ly Hoang Nam has defeated his Thai rival Kong Pop Lertchai 2-1 in the qualifying round of the F2 Futures tennis tournament now taking place in Bangkok, Thailand.
Nam triumphed over Lertchai 6-4 in the first set, but the Thai player fought back, beating the Vietnamese boy 6-4 in the second set.
The third set ended in a 5-5 draw, forcing the two to enter the fourth decisiveset in which saw the 16-year-old Vietnamese boy secure a 7-5 victory over his Thai opponent.
Nam is seeded No. 14 in the tournament and will face No. 3 seed Irfandi Hendrawan of Indonesia in the next round.
If Nam wins that match, he will earn a ticket to the official F2 Futures tennis tournament in Thailand, giving him the chance to contest with some of the Top 300 players such as Danai Udomchoke (244th), Adam Feeney (299th), and Saketh Mymeni (300th).
