Music gala kicks off Vietnamese Cultural Days in Russia

In his opening remarks, Andrey Yatskin, first deputy speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, reviewed major milestones in Russia-Vietnam relations and said the event is part of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries ahead in 2025.

“We do hope that the festival that comprises art performances, a photo exhibition, the screening of Vietnamese films, and Ao Dai (traditional long dress) fashion shows will help Russian friends gain greater understanding about Vietnamese culture, thereby further contributing to strengthening relations between the two countries,” said Yatskin.

For his part, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung stressed that the festival would serve to promote an image of a safe and friendly Vietnam to international friends.

Vietnamese Cultural Days in Russia is scheduled to take place in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Ulianov from July 2 to July 7. The highlight of the festival will be the screening of five Vietnamese films which have won many national and international prizes.

A photo exhibition on Vietnamese landscapes and people; performances to introduce traditional Vietnamese musical instruments such as the bamboo flute, T'rung, and monochord; and Ao Dai fashion shows will be held to give Russians the chance to gain greater insights into Vietnamese culture.
