Music concert series to connect local and German artists

VOV.VN - Vietnamese and German artists will participate in a series of musical programmes from April 19 to July 14 to be hosted by the Goethe Institute in Hanoi.

The scheme, which promotes music from the 20th century, will showcase works from performers who have yet to do a show in the nation, with a specific focus on musicians during the volatile length of the 20th century.

Opening on April 19, the first music concert will feature various pieces composed by globally-renowned composers such as John Cage, John Adams, Leo Ornstein, and Henry Cowell.

The 20th century pieces will be introduced in concerts held on May 24, June 28, and July 14.

The music series will feature the participation of numerous Vietnamese artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, including Oboe artist Hoang Manh Lam, in addition to pianists Ngo Phuong Vi and Luu Duc Anh.

Most notably, German artists will perform during the series of musical programmes, including cellist Lucas Fels, clarinetist Nina Janßen-Deinzer, electronic performer Cedrik Fermont, and artist Gabriel Hensche.
