Museum offers glimpse of golden past
VOV.VN - A new museum – The Fito Museum of Traditional Pharmacy – has opened its doors to the public as of August 12, providing a unique glimpse at drugstore tools and technologies of centuries past.
The 2,000 square meter museum located in Binh Duong Province is a companion to The Museum of Vietnamese Traditional Medicine located in Ho Chi Minh City that was inaugurated some 10 years ago.

It holds a treasure trove of pharmaceutical artefacts including utensils for weighing and grinding medicines, collections of medicinal herbs and even a traditional pharmacy counter from hundreds of years ago.
It also has a collection of intriguing paintings of more than 1,000 pharmaceutical plants used in ancient times. In another area of the museum there is a ‘tree’ displaying hundreds of names of famous doctors of the day.

In addition to visiting the Museum, guests can tour a nearby modern day Fito pharmaceutical factory to see first-hand how pharmaceuticals are manufactured in accordance with World Health Organization GMP-WHO guidelines.
The museum and factory hold great promise as a good destination for university students and other researchers of traditional herbal medicine majors, families looking for a great destination to take the kids as well others who just enjoy exploring the fascinating world around them.
